Colored Wood / Material Exploration

In this project, we have stained wood with our self-made vacuum system. After a lot of attempts with different techniques, wood types, and dyes, we found that birch absorbs the liquid color best. The dye is usually used for textiles. This material exploration resulted in four sculptures that exemplify the potential and aesthetic qualities of the method.
